About the Author
After obtaining his Ph.D, Dr Mukund V. Deshpande (b. 1952) went on to earn his D.Sc from the University of Pune in 1994 for his research in the area of fungal differentiation. At present, he is Senior Scientist at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune.
For the last 22 years he has been working on carbohydrate-based enzymes, biocontrol of plant pathogenic fungi and insects, fungal morphogenesis and biosensors.
