The NeverEnding Story 1984.
Chased by school bullies, reprimanded by his father for daydreaming too much
Bastian is lost in his own world. Bastian escapes school bullies one rainy day
by hiding in an old used book store. After explaining his predicament to the
old clerk Bastian notices a large leather bound book with a symbol of two
snakes intertwined into an emblem. Soon after the clerk warns Bastian that
this book is not for him Bastian, rushes away with it "borrowing" it, while
the clerk is in another room. Taking refuge in the attic of his school Bastian
opens the book, and a world of fantasy. Learning that the wonderous, beautiful
land of Fantasia is being destroyed by a terrible "Nothing" Bastian is taken
deeper into the story. Soon discovering the ChildLike Empress is deathly ill,
the cause; she needs a new name. A young warrior named Atreyu is called and
Bastian follows his adventures, unknowing that he, himself is slowly being
written into the mysterious book. Soon realizing that he is now written in
the book Bastian realizes that the only one who can save Fantasia is him.

The Neverending Story II The Next Chapter 1990.
Young Bastian and his friends in Fantasia continue their fantastic,
philosophical adventure. This time Bastian must battle an evil witch who
threatens to destroy the imaginary world that reading books helps create.
Two friends, one fictional, the other mortal, join forces to free an Empress
who is locked in an Ivory Tower in Fantasialand.

The NeverEnding Story III Escape From Fantasia 1994.
Bastian's dream to get a sibling becomes true when his father re-marries,
but soon he has trouble with his new stepsister Nicole and with a gang of
school bullies, the Nasties. Hiding in the school library, Bastian finds
his favourite book of THE NEVERENDING STORY, where it is later found by
Slip, the gang leader. The latter recognizes the power of the book and
begins to form Fantasia after his bad intentions. When the chaos becomes
worse the Child-like Empress requests Bastian to move back to the real
world, get the book back and save Fantasia. Accidentally some Fantasia
characters travel with him to reality, but get lost in different places.
Meanwhile Slip and the other Nasties spread anarchy. Finally, Bastian
gets support from Nicole, who begins to believe in the power of Fantasia.
