The Three Stooges were an American vaudeville and comedy team active from 1922 until 1970, best known for their 190 short subject films by Columbia Pictures that have been regularly airing on television since 1958. Their hallmark was physical farce and slapstick. The Three Stooges Collection is a series of DVD collections of theatrical short subjects produced by Columbia Pictures. Each volume is a two-disc set, and covers a three-year interval. The series was first made available by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on October 30, 2007. On June 5, 2012, all eight volumes were reissued in a box set entitled The Three Stooges: The Ultimate Collection. This release concerns only the years featuring Curly Howard, 1934-1947.
