Multiplayer only works on LAN. You can play with friends online using a program akin to hamachi, or zerotier. We have a guide for it on our Gitea.
Changing Username:
By default the username will be 'Mr_Goldberg'
You can change this by launching the game once, and editing the account_name.txt file.
